Hey, here’s a small update after a long while because I’m still not dead and I know my viewers want one (yes, all 6 of you!) It took a lot more time than I thought it would but spammers finally managed to mess up the comment system. I’m temporarily turning off the comments while I figure out what I will do regarding this. Hey everyone, I’ve just finished a much needed update to the site. Most obvious change is the new visual layout but a lot has changed under the hood also. When someone thinks of rapid web application development, Ruby on Rails is the framework everyone remembers first, but it has a problem. It does not run on standard LAMP web servers and so most web hosting services don’t support it on their basic plan, which is the shared hosting. There are a few exceptions like Site5 however many complain of high loads and slow response. Alternative frameworks luckily exists though. |
